SRP quy định một class/module chỉ nên có một lý do duy nhất để thay đổi, tương ứng với một tác nhân (actor) duy nhất. Tuân thủ SRP giúp giảm coupling (độ kết hợp), tăng cohesion (tính gắn kết) và tối ưu hóa khả năng bảo trì, kiểm thử phần mềm.
